Cessna 421 recurrent training
The 421 Golden Eagle is one of the most capable piston airplanes in private hands. Its geared engines reward careful power handling, and its systems ask more than most pilots expect from a piston twin. Owners often ask whether a 421 really has to go to a simulator center. It depends on your policy, so ask your broker. If the answer is that in-aircraft training qualifies, the course happens in your exact panel with your engines.

Cessna 421 Golden Eagle training questions
How much does Cessna 421 Golden Eagle training cost?
Cessna 421 Golden Eagle initial training is $3,050 and recurrent is $1,800, delivered in your own aircraft at your airport or at ours. Tuition is the same in both places. Travel expenses are added when we come to you, and your aircraft's fuel and operating cost during the flight hours is yours.
Do I need a type rating for the Cessna 421 Golden Eagle?
No. The 421 is well under 12,500 lb.
Does the Cessna 421 Golden Eagle need a high altitude endorsement?
Check your AFM. The rule in 14 CFR 61.31(g) applies when the lower of service ceiling and maximum operating altitude is above 25,000 feet.
Will my underwriter accept Cessna 421 Golden Eagle training in my own aircraft?
That is your underwriter's decision, for your experience and limits. Ask your broker first. We can send the aircraft-specific syllabus and CFII credentials to help them decide.
Does a 421 really have to go to a simulator center, or can someone come to my airplane?
That depends on your policy. There is no FAA requirement for a simulator here, so the answer comes from your underwriter. Ask your broker first. If in-aircraft training qualifies, the instructor comes to your airplane.
