Piper Meridian and JetPROP initial and recurrent training

The Meridian and the JetPROP conversion both put a PT6A on a PA-46 airframe, and many owners come to them from a Malibu or a Mirage. The panel and the cabin feel familiar. The engine, the speeds and the 30,000 foot ceiling are not, so that gap is the course.

Meridian and JetPROP training questions

How much does Meridian and JetPROP training cost?

Meridian and JetPROP initial training is $3,750 and recurrent is $2,550, delivered in your own aircraft at your airport or at ours. Tuition is the same in both places. Travel expenses are added when we come to you, and your aircraft's fuel and operating cost during the flight hours is yours.

Do I need a type rating for the Meridian and JetPROP?

No. The PA-46 family is well under 12,500 lb.

Does the Meridian and JetPROP need a high altitude endorsement?

Yes for the Meridian, which shows a 30,000 foot maximum operating altitude on the FAA data sheet. For a JetPROP, check the conversion's limits in your AFM supplement.

Will my underwriter accept Meridian and JetPROP training in my own aircraft?

That is your underwriter's decision, for your experience and limits. Ask your broker first. We can send the aircraft-specific syllabus and CFII credentials to help them decide.
